Paper first, then the screen

A laptop chart lets you scroll a decade during a coffee. That speed is the enemy of candlestick literacy. When the bar is six millimetres tall, you cannot see whether the lower wick is a needle or a stump.

Every System Beampoint pack is printed landscape, one instrument per page, sixty bars visible, no overlay. You mark with a red pencil because graphite disappears on recycled stock under the studio lights. The first hour of the workshop is silent for this reason: if you can hear keys clicking, someone has opened a platform and the exercise has already failed.

After the two Saturdays you may of course return to software. The paper habit is a training wheel, not a religion. We only insist on it while the names of the shapes are still being learned.
